David Briers Wins First Play N Trade National “Guitar Hero II™ Champion” Title with a Score of 584,024

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 27, 2007 – Play N Trade Franchise, Inc., one of the fastest-growing franchises worldwide, today announced that David Briers has been named the first Play N Trade National Guitar Hero II™ Champion, posting the top score of 584,024 points played on Free Bird at the “expert” level. Driving 150 miles from Richmond, Ind. to the Lexington, Ky. Play N Trade, Briers competed with gamers from across the U.S. and Canada to win the championship title and grand prizes of a $1,000 in-store gift card and an Xbox 360 Guitar Hero multiplayer bundle.

“The tournament was a lot of fun, with great competition at the regional and national levels, and I’m looking forward to doing it again,” said the 27-year-old Briers. “Guitar Hero is my favorite game. I’ve been playing it since it was first released, and really enjoy the songs, which is why I play so much.”

The competition was held on June 16. All local winners received a $50 in-store gift card, a “Guitar Hero Champion” T-shirt and a customized guitar skin.

The competition was intense, with six other players scoring more than 500,000 points. Daniel Caylor, Alexandria, Va. scored 570,620; Michael Boreson, Kalispell, Mont., scored 567,182; Nicholas Papamichael, Walpole, Mass. scored 554,482; Robert Michaels, Kitty Hawk, NC scored 545,763; David Jennings, Plano, Texas scored 531,870; and David Perkins, Chubbuck, Idaho scored 500,041.
